Unauthorised Secondary Employment | Feigned Illness | Sick Pay Fraud Potsdam and Brandenburg

Sick pay fraud is one of the most common reasons for engaging Kurtz Investigations Potsdam and Brandenburg. Our social security networks were designed to help those in need. Many employees fail to recognise that exploiting these systems by feigning illness is not a minor offence, but harms both the employer and society. Calling in sick without cause is fraud. Kurtz Investigations Potsdam and Brandenburg helps you prevent this active damage to your company.

Employees may work unofficially (“moonlight”) for other companies, possibly even competitors, attend family events, go on holiday or work on their own property during sick leave. Employers are obliged to continue paying wages in the event of illness for up to six weeks. Do not allow yourself to be exploited. The detectives of Kurtz Investigations Potsdam observe your suspicious employees and secure legally admissible evidence.

Unauthorised Secondary Employment, Breach of Non-Compete Clause

In principle, every German citizen is free to pursue secondary employment in their spare time. However, employment contracts often impose at least an obligation to inform the employer before taking up additional work. Problems arise when the side job creates a conflict of interest, for example if the employee works for a competitor or regularly exceeds the legally permitted maximum working hours per week. Secondary work is normally also not allowed during vacation, which is intended for rest and to prevent a drop in performance due to overwork. Unauthorised work is often done “under the table” – using your clients and resources. The financial damage to your company can be significant.

The detectives of our Potsdam corporate investigation agency observe your employee and provide legally admissible evidence. If the suspicion is confirmed, the employee is usually liable for damages.
